Growing requirements

  • Sun to semi-sun
  • Good drainage
  • Acidic soils with low phosphates
  • Water regularly
  • Good air movement with cool soils

How to plant in the garden

  • Dig a hole twice the size of the container and mix the soil with acid compost
  • Remove container and plant without disturbing the rootball
  • Compact the soil around the plant and water well
  • Mulch the area around the plant to keep the soil cool and moist

How to plant in a container

  • Use a good quality potting soil (bark types)
  • Fill the container with the potting soil
  • Make a hole in the soil and mix a teaspoon of Fyngrow with soil in the bottom of the hole
  • Remove the container and plant without disturbing the rootball
  • Compact the soil around the plant and water well
  • Mulch the area around the plant to keep the soil cool and moist

Do not

Do not use fertilisers with phosphates (Bonemeal, 2:3:2, Superphosphates)
Do not let the plants go dry in first year of growth – older plants can tolerate dryness for a period
